Afghanistan has caused the biggest upset by defeating Australia in the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan defeated Australia by 21 runs in the Super-8 match being played in Kensington.

Australia decided to bowl first and restricted Afghanistan to 148 runs. But captain Mitchell Marsh's team could not chase even this small target and could only score 127 runs. Naveen Ul Haq and Gulbadin Naib became the heroes of this victory. Gulbadin took 4 wickets in 4 overs and gave 20 runs. Naveen dismissed 3 Australian batsmen in his 4 overs.

Afghanistan defeated Australia for the first time in any format of cricket. With this defeat of Australia, India will now have to defeat Australia to reach the semi-finals.
